Adaptive Fuzzy Logic Control : Application to the Stator Field Oriented Double-Fed Induction Motor Drive (DFIM)

This paper presents an application of indirect adaptive fuzzy logic control theory to the wound rotor asynchronous motor with both its stator and rotor fed by two PWM voltage source inverters in which the system operates in the stator field oriented control. After determining the model of the machine, an adaptive control associated to the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model was applied to a simplified structure. In this paper, we propose a new approach to the adaptive fuzzy control based on a combination of the fuzzy systems and the classical method known as the calculated torque. The fuzzy systems are used to give a representation model of the dynamics of the system to be controlled. The control rule is then generated starting from this model by using the method of the calculated torque.
