Utilization of Regeneration Energy in Industrial Robots System

This paper is devoted to investigation of shared D C bus systems with a common storage capacitor operati ng on utilization of regeneration energy of electrical drives of industrial robots. The system connecting the central energy storage capacitor with DC buses of several industri al robot controllers is elaborated. Simulation of operation of such system has been done with a target to obtain some specific ndicators about efficiency of the system by varying number of shared DC buses. Dimensioning of system’s parameters is prese nt d as well as conclusions about necessary control principles a re given. Results of experimental investigation are presented confirming operational efficiency of the proposed system.
