Multidisciplinary computation methods are developed at Dasa Military Aircraft. The paper gives an overview of the design problems related to aerodynamics/structure dynamics couplings in aircraft design. The development approach of the elements of a future multidisciplinary simulation and optimization system is sketched. Selected results from the development of these elements are discussed. They are steady and unsteady flow computation, structural computation and optimization, multidisciplinary and multiobjective optimization and finally the time-domain aeroelastic coupling in the transonic regime.
