Petri net model reconfiguration of discrete manufacturing systems

Abstract The fault recovery problem of discrete manufacturing systems is addressed through reconfiguration of Petri net models. The notion of reconfigurability is introduced and characterised; then a polynomial procedure for determining this property is proposed. Finally, a graph rewriting based procedure for reconfiguration is presented.
