Modeling and Simulation of Monitor-Control Network in Ship Power Station

In order to improve the whole design level of ship power system and reduce unnecessary expense, according to the actual situation of the ship power system, the transmission performance of monitor control network in ship power station is researched before prototype. Firstly, according to the actual power station, monitor-control network framework is given. The data incoming rule within power station is analyzed thoroughly and mathematical models of different kinds of data flows are developed. Secondly, a set of CAN bus models are designed and MAC layer process model is introduced in detail. Finally, the transmission delays in the traditional Ethernet, switched Ethernet and CAN are obtained by simulation. The result shows the real-time performance of these networks in the ship power station. The switched Ethernet is the best. The delay of critical messages in the CAN bus are small enough to meet the real-time request of the monitor control in ship power station. The delay of the traditional Ethernet is so long that it could not meet the real-time request.
