Free vibration of restrained beam carrying concentrated masses

This note is concerned with the vibrations of a beam carrying a concentrated mass at the beam tip and another concentrated mass at an intermediate point. The beam is hinged by a rotational spring at one end, and carries a heavy body at the other end. The key parameters are the mass ratios, the position of the intermediate load, and the stiffness of the rotational spring. Partial computational results are compared with existing data; the agreement is excellent.
