A new research of broadband microwave gain equalizer

The paper presents a broadband microwave gain equalizer of terminal open line resonators with thin film resistor. A new method to design equalizer is proposed, by changing the electrical length of main transmission line in a certain range, the return loss is improved obviously while transmission parameter changes slightly. Comparing to use the traditional method of optimizing by simulation software, this method greatly reduces the simulation time, improves the design efficiency and precision. And through using thin film resistor instead of chip resistor, the parasitic effect can be well reduced, the measured curve has no frequency offset comparing with the simulated curve. The paper proposes a good idea to design 6-18GHz microwave gain equalizer.
