A HIGH-THROUGHPUT FISH MICROCHIP FOR CLINICAL GENETICS

In this paper, we propose a rotating microchip for high speed analysis of chromosomal aberration in clinical diagnosis such as chromosomal translocation. To manipulate large number of chromosomes and control visualization properties, the proposed rotating microchip has concentrically micro-mesh structures to suspend the chromosomes in the fluid. The visualization variance of the proposed microchip decreases 97.7% compared to one of the conventional flat plate. Furthermore, the efficiency for Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH) analysis increases to five times or more.
