Multiple-access interference in relation to time-hopping correlation properties in multiple-access UWB system

Based on the analysis of the properties of time-hopping (TH) sequences, this paper investigates the multiple-access interference (MAI) in multiple-access ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless communication system. By the transformation of signal model, the hopping format is described in terms of binary TH sequences. The relation between MAI and TH correlation function are formulated. The bit error rate (BER) performance in the presence of MAI is evaluated by both theoretical analysis and computer simulations.
