This study aimed to: (1) produce advanced learning hair trimming video media which decent to use, easy to learn by the students and can be used for individual learning, (2) to discover the effectiveness of advanced learning trimming hair video media that can be developed on Trimming Hair Advanced Course. The type of this research is a development research which use the product development model of Borg & Gall combined with a learning development model of Dick & Carey. The results showed: (1) tests expert of Advanced Hair Trimming subject are in excellent qualifications (80.46%), (2) test of instructional design experts are on a good qualifying (79.58%), (3) tests video expert and graphic design are very good in qualifying (83.40%), (4) individual trials are in very good qualifications (87.86%), small group testing is excellent in qualifying (83.95%), field trials are in very good qualifications (97.96%). T-test = 3.285 at significance level α = 0.05 with 56 df obtained t-table = 1.67, so t-test> t-table, the effective use of video media in advanced learning hair trimming = 80.46%. The results of group of students who weren’t applied the learning media is 71.72%. This data prove that the use of advanced learning video media hair trimming is more effective in improving the competency and knowledge of students in the advanced course of the hair trimming than without using the learning video media.
