The future immigrant population of the United States.

This paper describes a population projection based on a new methodology which retains information on the generational composition of the future U.S. population; i.e. the projection provides separate information on the foreign-born and native-born populations. The principal results are projections of the major racial/ethnic groups of the U.S. population for the next fifty years (for 1990 to 2040) by generation. The paper also briefly describes overall projections through 2090. (EXCERPT)
