Chinese Eco-city Indictor Construction

Currently many cities in the world are planning and constructing according to eco-cities target.China is also becoming the the world's most active country on eco-city initiative.To solve the conceptual confusion and target unclear problem,this study aimed to establish a rational design,operable evaluation system so that the process of building eco-city can be measured,monitored.The index system will help the decision-maker understand the direction of eco-city development,current status and inadequate,and further provide guidance on eco-city planning,construction and management.Learn from the index system developed by world's authoritative international organizations and the Chinese central government departments,we using the delphi consultation,expert panel discussions,case study to determine the eco-city evaluation index system.Through comprehensive research ultimately determine five target layer,include resource efficiency,friendly environment,sustainable economic,social harmony,innovation led,water resources,energy and other 28 topics,36 quantitative indicators and 9 qualitative indictors.
