Quasi-Rectangular Holes with Minimum Stress Concentration in Orthotropic Plates

This paper deals with stresses around quasi-rectangular holes with minimum stress concentration in large orthotropic plates. The method given by Lekhnitskii is used. Numerical results are presented in terms of quasi-rectangular hole shapes with minimum stress concentration and stress distribution around these holes. Unidirec tional carbon/epoxy orthotropic composite materials are considered for a range of hole shapes under uniaxial and biaxial loading conditions.
