A Pre-Boreal water-level change in Lake Lyngsjö, central Halland

Abstract A Pre-Boreal water-level lowering in Lake Lyngsjo, central Halland, is described. During the culmination of the lowering, the water level may have been 4–5 m lower than it is nowadays, and Lyngsjo was then a closed lake with no outlet. The lowering indicates a distinct decrease in humidity during the later part of the Pre-Boreal period. Its recording in some other lakes is discussed.
