Systematic investigation of interplay between nonlinear and polarization dependent loss effects in coherent polarization multiplexed systems

We investigate interplay between nonlinear and PDL effects in coherent DP-QPSK systems. We find that signal degradation due to combined nonlinear and PDL impairments strongly depends on angle between signal and PDL axes. This dependency is opposite to PDL-only case.
