An apparatus comprising an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) (106), which is arranged to sample an analog signal (210) and to quantize to a digital signal, wherein the AD converter (106) to receive (a) a digital-to-analog converter (DA) converter (208) and integrator (204) having double sampling (200) which are adapted to the analog signal (210) to input terminals (316, 318), wherein the DA converter (208) and integrator (204) are arranged such that the sampling capacitors (312, 314) can be loaded during a first phase of a clocked signal of a clock generator, and that charge from the sampling capacitors (312, 314) second only during a is transmitted phase of the pulsed signal to integrating capacitors (306 304) while the sampling capacitors (312, 314) in the second phase crosswise to the input terminals (316, 318) are coupled, and (B) a 1-bit comparator (206) adapted to receive an input signal from the digital-to-analog converter (204) and integrator (210) to receive double sampling (200) and to generate the digital signal, and a modulator (108) adapted to modulate the digital signal.
