Interaction Model in a Resilient Standalone Multi-Microgrid System

This paper introduces an energy interaction framework for a decentralized operation in a stand-alone multi microgrid system. This system comprises of two microgrids and a storage system with private ownership for the set of microgrids considering economic and resilience indexes. In the proposed model, three modes for power exchange are considered. In the mode (1), both of the microgrids appear as the sellers and the storage system appears as the sole buyer. In the mode (2), both of the microgrids appear as the buyers and the storage system appears as a sole seller. In the mode (3), one of the microgrids appears as a seller and the other as a buyer. Each of these three interaction modes is modeled as a nonlinear bi-level optimization problem that is converted into a single-level mixed-integer linear problem (MILP). The results obtained from case studies clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed model for the interaction of microgrlds.
