Geometric precision correction of medium-low resolution images.

This paper discusses how to achieve image corrections.A method of registration-correction,i.e. correction after registration,is proposed. This method makes vector-map-based geometric conection of medium-low resolution images become reality. For grid-images-based geometric correction of medium-low resolution images,auto-registration can achieve precise correction. Two experiments were carried out.One is that a Landsat TM image was precisely corrected by vector topographic map using the registration-correction method;the other is that another Landsat TM image was precisely corrected using a CBERS image by the auto- registration method, using AutoSync module of Erdas9.0 software. Both experiments proved that the two precision corrections work well.Additionally, study also found that the control points are reusable. Both registration-correction and auto-registration can be applied in the image producing.
