Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on the effects of quadrature errors in finite element approximation of steady state, eigenvalue, and parabolic problems. The chapter estimates the size of the errors in the finite element approximation that result from the use of quadrature formulas for the integrals used in the chapter. Steady state problems, and the eigenvalue problem is reviewed. Parabolic problems are also discussed. Various theorems and lemmas are reviewed.
