An overview of convex projections theory and its application to image recovery problems

Abstract Recently there has been considerable interest in application of the method of convex projections to the image recovery problem in 3D electron microscopy. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of both theoretical and practical aspects of the method of projections onto convex sets. Extensions of the method and future research directions are also discussed.
