Optimized Design on the Direction of Longitudinal Axle of Underground Plant

Based on the Inglis formula, which calculates the tangential stress of the surrounding rock of geological stress field in different circumstances, programme is developed to compute the corresponding tangential stress of the surrounding rock of several underground plants, for instance, Ertan project of Sichuan according to different directions of longitudinal axle. The tangential stress limit of the surrounding rock of the underground cavity is analyzed for different direction of longitudinal axle, then the result is compared with the actual project on the tangential stress, finally, the rationality of the choosed longitudinal axle, the concentrating degree of the surrounding stress of the underground cavern are disscussed. The result shows reasonable direction selection of longitudinal axle can improve the stress state and stability of the surrounding rock of the underground plant and reduce the concentration degree of tangential stress surrounding the cavity.
