Off-line programming of robot welding based on 3D assembly models

Off-line programming of robot welding becomes a spotlight in welding automation. In this paper, 3D welding assembly models are established by SolidWorks imported in robot studio. A complete welding path along complex space curve is generated by welding robot station. And then the welding path is analyzed, tested and simulate. The systems contains configurations and programs of the robots as well as information about the position of the robot in the world coordinate system which can be load to a real controller of workshop welding robot. It proved Off-line programming improve quality and reduce labor costs.
