Research on the three-roll-push-bending forming rulesfor improving processing precision

Three-roll-push-bending is a kind of forming method with high processing flexibility, which can meet the growing request of the CNC pipe-bender’s processing ability. In this paper, the research on this forming method is based on the 3003-H24 aluminum alloy pipe. The main works are the following: (1) Firstly, a complete analysis of the forming procedure is carried on, which shows that there are three main technological problems needed to be researched. The first one is the springback rule of the bent pipe, the second one is the feeding amount of the transition stage, and the last one is the pre-feeding amount for reducing the wrinkle degree; (2) Then, a theoretical analysis method is proposed and used to study the springback rule of the bent pipe, while a numerical simulation method is used to study the feeding amount; (3) Finally, the forming rules found in the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation are combined to be applied on the real processing, which shows the validity of the calculating method proposed in this research.
