Statistical modeling of the indoor radio propagation channel. I

Using the impulse response modeling of the indoor radio channel, the results of extensive multipath propagation measurements at two office buildings are reported. The database for this analysis consists of 12000 impulse response profiles of the channel, which are obtained by inverse Fourier transforming of the channel's frequency responses. After reviewing the mathematical model of the channel and outlining the types of variations in the statistics, details of the measurement plan and procedure are described. Results of the analysis of the RMS delay spread are briefly discussed.<<ETX>>
