STAR DETECTION AND TRACKING USING CCDs

Abstract A star sensor, now under testing at Officine Galileo, making use of a CCD imaging array and a microprocessor based data acquisition and processing system is presented. Advantages resulting by this approach in terms of accuracy and ease of adaptation to different missions are discussed.
