MINIATUREFRONT-ENDMMIC'S FOR 76-GHz-BANDAUTOMOTIVE RADAR APPLICATIONS

Miniature 76-GHz-band transmitter and receiver MMIC's havebeensuccessfully developed forautomotive radarapplications. The transmitter MMIC,comprising a38-GHzamplifier, a frequency doubler and a 76-GHzamplifier, delivers 10.4-dBm outputpower.The receiver MMIC,comprising a38-GHzlocal amplifier, asub- harmonically pumped mixerand a 76-GHz amplifier, demonstrates -5.4-dB conversion gain. TheseMMIC's, whichhavethesmallchipsize(2.6 mm x 0.9mm),facilitate therealization oflow-cost front-end modules.
