Statistic control of a tribocharging process for granular materials

This paper aims to put in evidence that statistical control is an important tool in monitoring the tribocharging process of granular materials on a vibratory feeder device in view of their separations. A virtual instrument developed in LabWiew was used to acquire simultaneous samples of charge and mass of charged granules at fixed time interval. Monitoring the process by X-bar and R control charts was possible to detect the occurrence of two special dysfunctions: the variation of the granules size and the diminishing of the feed rate.
