MICROSOT 97 Robotics competition corner

The Federation of International Robot-soccer Association (FIRA) hosted the second Micro-Robot Soccer Tournament (MIROSOT) in Taejon, Korea, June 1-5, 1997. The event was organized by Prof. Jong-Kwan Kim, at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). The purpose of the tournament is to encourage research into multi-agent control and practical implementations, and, as can be seen by success of the 1997 event, the competition continues to merit serious attention. Although hardware processing remains the key to a competitive entry, the teams in general displayed more functionality and more multi-agent coordination over their 1996 counterparts.
