A METHOD FOR ANALYSIS OF COHERENCES BETWEEN POWER QUALITY AND NETWORK CHARACTERISTICS IN MEDIUM DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS

Electrical power quality in distribution networks mainly depends on type and behaviour of the connected consumers. The interaction of all consumers is stochastic. Furthermore the characteristic of the network as well as environmental conditions (e.g. temperature, clouds) have an influence on power quality. A new statistical approach will estimate the value of a power quality parameter (e.g. harmonics or unbalance) from parameters of consumers and network structure as well as environmental conditions. Therefore in a first step it is necessary to find out, which parameters influence a specific power quality parameter at all. Most important for the application of the method is the easy provision of the input parameter data. In either case it should be as less as possible parameters, which are easily obtained by the utility. The paper presents a method based on cluster analyses that quantifies the dependencies of a power quality parameter from the parameters of consumer and network structure and environmental conditions. Finally the paper shortly describes the software realization and gives a first practical result of the application of the method.
