The ν1 and ν3 bands of 18O3 and 18O16O18O: Line positions and intensities

Abstract Using 0.005 cm −1 resolution Fourier transform spectra of 18 O-enriched ozone samples, an extensive analysis of the ν 1 and ν 3 bands of the two isotopic species 18 O 3 and 18 O 16 O 18 O has been performed. The experimental rotational energy levels of the (100) and (001) vibrational states of both species were then reproduced with the aid of a Hamiltonian, taking explicitly into account the Coriolis interaction affecting the upper vibrational states. Accurate vibrational energies and rotational constants were derived and used together with an appropriate expansion of the transformed transition moment operators of the ν 1 and ν 3 bands to generate a complete and reliable list of line positions, intensities, and lower state energies for both isotopic species 18 O 3 and 18 O 16 O 18 O.
