Procedure for inspection and reconstruction of engineering components

A reconstruction procedure or inspecting a component engineering damaged subsurface, using a vibrating process chemically accelerated to remove material from critical surfaces worn or damaged component, the component being a gear, shaft, bearing, piston shaft, cam seat or gasket, the method comprising: a) performing the process on the component to remove an amount of material from surfaces; b) inspecting the component surfaces to determine an extension of apparent damage; c) on the basis of the inspection, determine whether: i. the component is reconstructed enough for reuse; or ii. the component must be scrapped.
