Progress in the Three-Dimensional DRAGON Grid Scheme

We propose a novel approach of three-dimensi onal hybrid grid methodology, the DRAGON grid method in the three-dimensional space. The DRAGON grid is created by means of a Direct Replacement of Arbitrary Grid Overlapping by Nonstructured grid, and is structured-gr id dominated with unstructured grids in small regions. The DRAGON grid scheme is an adaptation to the Chimera thinking. It is capable of preserving the advantageous features of both the structured and unstructured grids, and eliminates/minimizes their shortcomings. In the present paper, we address progress in the development and applications of the three-dimensional DRAGON grid scheme.
