Finally realizing our vision: easy access to instructor-led classroom materials

Because of our statewide campus res ponsibilities, since the mid1980s, the Indiana University UITS (University Information Technology Services) Education Program has developed printed materials for hands-on instructor-led computing classes. For the past five years, we've worked diligently to make these class materials easily available to a wider audience. We envisioned making it possible for our technology education partners at other IU campuses to access our class materials for their own modification and customization. The challenges we faced over the years were both of a technical and legal nature. Finally, we have realized our vision! Class materials are now easily accessed and modified on both the PC and Macintosh platforms. Responses from our campus technology education partners have been very positive. This paper will describe the various technical and legal hurdles we had to overcome to accomplish our vision, and it will describe the process by which others can access and use our electronic materials for their own
