Seeing mothers as partners in antenatal care

Antenatal care could make more impact if it addressed the problems that are likely to affect women with normal pregnancies. This article describes a new approach, which developed through cooperation between mothers, midwives, doctors and other health care workers. This new style of antenatal care emphasizes sensitivity, flexibility, education and self-reliance.
