Dynamic Electrooptic Effect Induced by Chromophore Motion in Poling Process

Electrooptic and dielectric properties of a side-chain methacrylate polymer were studied as a function of frequency and temperature. Similar behaviors for the two dispersions were observed, which was attributed to the orientational motion of dipoles. The dispersion formula for the orientational electrooptic birefringence was derived, based on a rotational diffusion equation.
