Kesulitan Siswa dalam Pemecahan Masalah Soal Cerita Matematika Dilihat dari Adversity Quotient (AQ)

Pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu tujuan utama dalam pembelajaran matematika dan dapat diwujudkan dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kesulitan pada siswa climbers, campers dan quitters dalam memecahkan masalah matematika bentuk soal cerita berdasarkan langkah Polya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan desain pendekatan studi kasus. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri serta instrumen pendukungnya yaitu angket, tes pemecahan masalah, dan wawancara. Populasi dalam penelitian ini siswa/i SMPK Mardi Wiyata Malang kelas VIII B yang diambil 6 subyek (2 siswa Climber, 2 siswa Camper dan 2 siswa Quitter) berdasarkan hasil data angket Adversity Response Profile (ARP). Hasil dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari kesulitan siswa climber dalam menyelesaikan pemecahan masalah yaitu kesulitan menyelesaikan dan membuat kesimpulan dari masalah. Kesulitan siswa camper dalam menyelesaikan pemecahan masalah yaitu kesulitan merencanakan strategi penyelesaian masalah, menyelesaikan masalah serta menarik kesimpulan dari masalah yang diberikan. Kesulitan siswa quitter dalam menyelesaikan pemecahan masalah yaitu kesulitan dalam memahami masalah, merencanakan solusi penyelesaian, melakukan penyelesaian serta menarik kesimpulan dari masalah yang diberikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian siswa dengan kategori quitter memiliki kemampuan terendah dalam proses pemecahan masalah. Karenanya perlu adanya penelitian lebih lanjut untuk meningkatkan motivasi serta minat belajar siswa yang tergolong dalam kategori quitter.
