The Solution of Second Order Problems with a Symbolic-Numeric Method

Advances in special purpose compilers and mathematical processors such as FORMAC, REDUCE, MACSYMA, and others have spurred the development of computational methods that employ on a computer both symbolic and numerical computations to obtain a solution to a problem.
