Detection of Fault in a Hybrid Power System using Wavelet Transform

Proper detection of different kinds of faults appearing in a power system is extremely important. In this paper, detection and categorization of some of these faults are evaluated depending on the data obtained by the wavelet analysis of system transients. The energy of the signals detects the fault and threshold detail coefficient categorizes the fault into different types such as L-G, L-L-G, L-L-L. This paper finds how wavelet transform can detect and classify some abnormal conditions. The diagnostic technique suggested depends on the stationary wavelet transform.
