Chapter 10 – How Iraqi Insurgents Watched U.S. Predator Video—Information Theft on the Tactical Battlefield

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become a key enabler for U.S. military operations and, in the future, will likely become a key system for other nations as well. However, despite the advanced technology of America's flagship UAV known as the Predator, Iraqi insurgents in 2009 were able to obtain the video feed from this system and store it to their computers. This chapter explores this 2009 incident and discusses the insurgent group Kata’ib Hezbollah, which was reported to also have obtained access to the Predator video.
