Computerized design and generation of double circular-arc helical gears with low transmission errors

Abstract The authors have computerized the simulation of meshing and contact of double circular-arc helical gears, and determined the impact of gear misalignment on transmission errors. A modified geometry of the gears for absorption of transmission errors caused by misalignment has been developed. The generation and the geometry of the gears are represented in the Appendices. Numerical examples that illustrate the developed theory are represented.
