Design Strategy in Wireless Sensor Networks Based on Backup Nodes

Since the limited size of sensor node,energy-aware is the most important issue in designing wireless sensor networks. In terms of the role assignment of node,a distributed algorithm based on backup nodes was proposed.This algorithm can decrease the whole energy consumption by maintaining minimal number of active nodes in the sensing role.Simulation results verify the feasibility and correction of our algorithm.At the same time,in order to achieve the maximal network lifetime,the optimal numbers of the sensor nodes were provided.
