NIGHT-TIME VISIBILITY OF SEVEN ROAD-MARKING MATERIALS

The visibility of road-markings at night is substantially better when they are provided with a vertical profile or consist of reflectors installed on the road surface. After 22 months and the passage of some 2m. vehicles all the types of road-markings investigated can be considered to have reached their final stage in terms of ageing, wear and damage. Diminishing atom atmospheric visibility reduces the visibility distances of all the markings investigated.
