Multiplying Disks: Robust Stability of a Cascade Connection

An explicit formula for a product of n disks in the complex plane is obtained. It completes the circular arithmetic technique and yields numerous applications in robust stability analysis. One of them, namely the Nyquist test (or a small gain theorem) for a cascade connection of uncertain SISO blocks, is considered in more detail.
