An Asymptotic Analysis of Interactions of Feedback Loops with Parasitics in Actuators and Sensors

Abstract Feedback system design is often simplified by neglecting sensor and actuator dynamics. It is of practical importance to investigate the effects of such “parasitics”, especially when feedback gain is high. In this paper, we employ singular perturbation to model and analyze the interaction of sensor-actuator dynamics with the fast modes created by high feedback gain.
