The technological change in terrestrial television broadcast from Analog to Digital started in 1998. It's an inevitable change that each country has to face as part of the digitizing process that already has been taking place in many other services. Cuba adopted DTMB (GB 20600-2006) standard for Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting with 6MHz channel bandwidth and is currently in “simulcast period”, coexisting with NTSC-M (analog standard deployed in Cuba). In order to successfully achieve infrastructure planning, it is necessary to take into account several aspects, particularly technology issues. This paper comprises the evaluation of co-channel and adjacent channel interference for DTMB standard, particularly in 6MHz bandwidth. DTMB was by Cuba after more than ten years of study and evaluation conducted by a Technical Committee created with this purpose. However there is not reference of co-channel or adjacent channel interference margins for DTMB specifically with 6MHz channel bandwidth. All the experiments have been carried out according to the BT.2035-2 ITU-R report: “Guidelines and techniques for the evaluation of digital terrestrial television broadcasting systems including assessment of their coverage areas”. Latest update of this report does not include measurements or reference values of co-channel or adjacent channel interference for DTMB.
