The road is one of the means of transport used in improving the welfare of society in general and the economy in particular . The cost of construction and maintenance of roads are quite large, resulting in the construction of roads is focused on improving the quality of roads, both in terms of cost, in terms of the method of implementation and maintenance in order to obtain maximum results and can last a long road. Often encountered pavement already damaged before the age of plans is reached. Several factors cause damage include : maintenance of roads is not optimal, vehicle load exceeds the load capacity of the vehicle, the influence of asphalt and aggregate grading factors, as well as the implementation of the pavement that does not meet the requirements of the specification Ministry of Public Works. So, need a method that can be used as guidelines to determine the deviation of the implementation meets the requirements specification Ministry of Public Works. One method is to analyze the influence of coarse aggregate content variation of the value of the characteristic mix - Bearing Course Asphalt Concrete ( AC - BC ). Flexible pavement layer - Bearing Course Asphalt Concrete ( AC - BC ) is used as a pavement surface layer or layers of wear, it is necessary for the density ( density ) which meet the standards . From the results of the study "Effect of Coarse Aggregate Content Variation of the value of Hot Asphalt Aggregate Mixture Characteristics ( AC - BC ) with Marshall test" showed that by increasing the levels of coarse aggregate up to 130 % and lower levels of coarse aggregate up to 80 % of normal ( 100 % ), resulting in the value of VFA and Flow decreased from normal conditions ( 100 % ) and VIM value increased from the normal condition ( 100 % ), this resulted in the value of the Marshall mix characteristics do not meet the required specifications mixture .
