Student Perceptions of the Effectiveness of Web-based Courses.

The responses of 206 students in ten web-based MBA courses at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater were analyzed concerning the perceived effectiveness of this mode of course delivery. Statistical analyses were performed on five dependent variables, using six independent variables as predictors. While student evaluations were generally positive, the strongest findings concerned whether training had been sufficient for this type of course offering. Perceived technological/access difficulties were related to three of the outcome measures. Also, differences concerning employment and student status were also observed. Implications for this and other internet-based courses are discussed.
