Energy Efficiency in Motor Driven Systems

Pump systems account for one of the highest share of industrial energy consumption. A highly efficient pump system incorporates elements such as high efficiency motors, pumps and couplings. It also uses a variable speed drive to control flow rate compared to the conventional method of using a throttle valve which only reduces flow rate even while the motor is operating at full speed. An efficient pump system also incorporates low-friction piping.
