A Prioritized Resource Scheduling Scheme for Throughput-Sensitive Applications in VANET

As an essential part of Multi-channel MAC protocol, the channel scheduling algorithm aims at enhancing the network throughput and resource utilization. Based on the WAVE stan¬dard in vehicular communications, this paper improves WAVE MAC by using the time division access on service channels and proposes a channel scheduling scheme to negotiate and allocate the channel resources for throughput-sensitive non-safety applica¬tions. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme works very well on differentiating the service priorities and decreasing the channel switching times. In addition, it can achieve higher aggregate throughput than WAVE MAC and TMMAC.
