ICI Cancellation for OFDM in Mobile WIMAX

Time-varying channels lead to the loss of orthogonality among subcarriers in the high mobility of WIMAX, thus producing intercarrier interference (ICI) in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, and resulting in the degradation of system estimation performance. In order to mitigate the ICI of effect, an ICI cancellation method based on Taylor series approach is proposed, which is applied in time domain iterative channel estimation. The simulation results show that the method can achieve good estimation performance in high mobility of WIMAX system, eliminate the ICI efficiently and reduce computational complexity.
